Joining GUARD Dogs is an excellent way to meet new people, help out your fellow students, and have fun! Members are asked to volunteer an average of 3 nights each semester, attend monthly meetings, as well as participate in social events designed to strengthen our organization's community. Member jobs include dispatching calls, driving, and riding-along. A number of leadership positions are also available for members who want to become more involved.

We are very excited you have decided to become part of GUARD Dogs. The first step in this process is to fill out the Membership Application. If you are interested in driving for GUARD Dogs, please complete the Driver Application after you have submitted the Membership Application. The requirements for drivers are outlined on the Driver Application so please make sure you satisfy all of them before applying. If you are not eligible to drive, we hope that you are still interested in becoming a member as we have other available job including dispatching and riding-along. We also expect that those who have been approved to drive take part in all of the jobs, not just driving.

Once we receive your application we will review it as soon as possible and notify you of your applicant status through email. If you are accepted, you are required to attend a training session prior to working your first shift. At this session, we will discuss operations procedures, membership requirements, and our risk management policies. You will also be trained to recognize the signs of alcohol poisoning and what to do in the case of suspected alcohol poisoning or other drug overdose.
